20 Facts about BSB!

1. No, The BSB didn't grow up together! A.J, Howie and Nick first met about four years ago when they were solo performers auditioning around their native Orlando, Florida. They met Kevin through a mutual friend, he got Brian on board and BSB were born!

2. BSB is somewhat of a family affair. Kevin and Brian- who are originally from Lexington, Kentuky but moved to Florida- are first cousins!

3. The boys are very socially conscious. They make a point of supporting organizations like SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and are actively anti-drug and alcohol!

4. These guys can sing FOR REAL. Unlike a lot of over-produced studio groups, the boys can belt out their tunes a capella (without accompaniment) and sound just as amazing!

5. Two of the boys have special nicknames. Howie is known as "Howie D." and Brian is "B-Rok"!

6. At 24, Kevin is the oldest Backstreet boy while 17-year-old Nick is the youngest. Next in line is A.J, who's 19, 22- year-old Brian and 23-year-old Howie.

7. If you go to a BSB concert, watch out! The boys have been known to cause quite a commotion. As a matter of fact, they're pretty used to getting charged by their fans!

8. You've been enjoying their first single "We've got It goin' On" for a while now, but it's just a sample of what these boys are capable of.

9. When the guys are touring, they love to relax on their bus by listening to music, playing Nintendo and playing practical jokes on each other!

10. The groups' official prankster is definitely Nick, who makes an art out of fooling his fellow Backstreet Boys! Not surprising, his favorite holiday is Halloween!

11."Have keyboard, will travel!" That's the motto of Kevin, the groups' piano man! "I don't go anywhere without my keyboard," he says.

12. Brian is quite a talented baseball player! One of his nicknames is "Seaver" because his friends say he pitches like baseball superpitcher Tom Seaver.

13. Although all the BSB are close to their families, Howie is the most likely to search out a pay phone to call his folks when he's on the road. "I'm in a family of five. We're one of those tight families," says Howie.

14. A.J is the self-proclaimed "Mr. Roses". He's the Backstreet boy most likely to write a poem from the heart for his special someone. He describes himself as "old-fashioned, romantic and respectful."

15. It's hard to believe, but all of the boys are single! Being on the road as much as they are, it is hard for them to settle down. But they're definitely on the lookout to meet the right girl!

16. At home in Orlando, Howie, Kevin and Brian are roommates! The three share an apartment and according to the guys, Howie is defintely the neatest while Brian's room "looks like a hurricane went through it"! *Actually, did you know they have sold their apartment? I wonder who bought it...*

17. The boys admire a lot of other groups, but one of their faves is another group of boyz- Boyz ll Men. They would love to work with them!

18. There's no jealousy among the boys. When it comes to singing lead on a particular song, they are very democratic. "I'ts not a real competitve thing amongst the five of us," agrees A.J.

19. How tight are the BSB? "We have fights every now and then, but it's nothing that a family wouldn't go through," Kevin admits. "We're like brothers."

20. What's the best part of being the BSB? The guys unanimously agree that it's performing live which makes all their hard work worhtwhile. Says Kevin, It's the greatest feeling of all, that's what we're here for."
